Llangollen Round Challenge

Originally devised by the local community as an event to raise money for Cancer Research UK, The Llangollen Round is now a well established and waymarked trail. Over its 51km (32 miles) the round ascends all of the major hills and summits that surround the town of Llangollen as well as some nationally important and outstanding historical sites. Some stand-out features include: Thomas Telford’s incredible Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, The Horseshoe Pass, Trevor Rocks and the round’s high point of Moel Fferna at 630m. We start and finish in the Dee Valley village of Trevor with a target time of 12 hours, though being a circuitous walk, we could feasibly start the route elsewhere such as the Horseshoe Pass. Ascending approximately 2000 metres over heather, grass and tracks, the Llangollen round is a strenuous route at times. Depending on the needs of the group, we can help arrange connecting transport, there will also be a support vehicle stationed on the route to provide refreshments and kit changes. Individual bookings: Spaces are £95 per person, we are able to run an open event with a minimum of 4 participants so please get in contact to register your interest.
