PRIVATE & BESPOKE GUIDING
Some clients arrive with unfinished business on the Welsh 3000s. Others want a full Rhinogydd traverse, a long Carneddau link-up, a Paddy Buckley recce or an unusual route they have been thinking about for years.
Others simply want a private day to build confidence on Crib Goch, Tryfan or steeper scrambling terrain before taking the next step independently.
Mountain Craft offers fully private Welsh 3000s challenges, complex mountain objectives, scrambling and technical days, quiet summit journeys and bespoke routes across Eryri and North Wales. Route planning, pacing, escape options and logistics are shaped around your experience, fitness and the conditions, with vehicle support arranged where required.
EXPERT GUIDING OFF THE BEATEN TRACK.
Mountain Craft was founded by Jacob Richmond, a qualified Mountain Leader and Rock Climbing Instructor with more than a decade spent living, working and exploring in Eryri.
It grew from a belief that the best mountain days are not simply routes completed or summits reached. They are shaped by good judgement, careful route choice, honest communication and the feeling of experiencing the mountains properly.
From Crib Goch and the Welsh 3000s to quiet ridges, rough country and unusual private objectives, every Mountain Craft experience is carefully designed, deliberately personal and unmistakably its own.

★★★★★
"He immediately put our small group totally at ease with his relaxed but totally professional manner. His knowledge of the terrain and his ability to know exactly how to manage our capabilities to get the best out of us as individuals, and yet work together as a team, is impressive."

"I'd highly recommend Jacob for challenging endurance activities. Working with a trusted, qualified mountain leader made my two Welsh 3000s attempts safe, stress-free and enjoyable. It allowed me to focus on the challenge and not have to worry about nav, route finding, and timings. A highly competent but chilled out mountain guide."

"Everything ran smoothly due to his diligent and comprehensive communications before and during the day. He has an encyclopedic knowledge of the mountains and an infectious enthusiasm for sharing his love of these remote spots. He happily guides and mentors in mountain craft."
